billWilliam A. “Bill” Whitney

Bill brings MIMCO a forty-five year history of successful investment experience.  After receiving an MBA from the University of Chicago, Bill joined Merrill Lynch in Houston, Texas.  He next managed the Trust Investment Department for First Hutchings Sealy National Bank, the oldest bank in Texas, with trust relationships going back one hundred years.  After First Hutchings was sold to First National Bank in Dallas in 1974, Bill joined Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Jackson, Mississippi to manage the Trust Investment Department.  He was promoted to Executive Vice President and given responsibility for the bank’s investment portfolio and Dealer Bank.  In 1981, Bill left Deposit Guaranty to manage the Jackson office of Howard Weil, Labouisse and Fredericks to concentrate on his passion for individual clients and their portfolios.  When Legg Mason acquired Howard Weil, Bill moved to Prudential Securities, and then to J.C. Bradford which, after a series of mergers, became UBS Securities.  Bill holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and was a founding member of the CFA Society of Mississippi.

tomJohn W. “Tom” Bertaut

Upon receiving a B.S. in Business Administration from Belhaven College, Tom joined Deposit Guaranty National Bank as a fixed income trader, specializing in municipal bonds.  He then began his thirty year brokerage career with Merrill Lynch, before joining Thomson McKinnon, which was acquired by Prudential Securities.  Tom worked for Prudential for thirteen years, serving as First Vice President-Investments and Regional Institutional Financial Advisor.  In this role, he advised and worked with some of the largest banking and insurance institutions in the Southeast.  Upon leaving Prudential, Tom joined UBS for ten years as First Vice President-Investments and Regional Institutional Fixed Income Advisor, continuing his work with some of the largest financial institutions in the South.  Tom is a member and past president of the CFA Society of Mississippi.

forbesForbes L. Watson

Forbes earned a B.A in Finance from the University of North Texas and MBA from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.  Prior to joining MIMCO, Forbes served as Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for over eleven years with Voyageur Asset Management, or a sister firm.  For six years, Forbes co-managed over $800 million, primarily in small cap growth companies.  He has managed individual and institutional large cap and fixed income portfolios, and for over five years, the five-star rated Centura Mid Cap Equity Fund, cited numerous times in The Wall Street Journal.  Forbes was also profiled in an Easter Sunday edition of The New York Times.  From 1995 until 1998, he held portfolio management positions with Trustmark National Bank and ParkSouth Corporation, a registered investment advisor, both in Jackson.  Forbes’ investment career began in Dallas, Texas in 1981.

chrisChris O. Carrico

Chris attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, earning both a B.A. in Economics and an MBA.  At the conclusion of his MBA, he was awarded the CFA Society of Mississippi’s Excellence in Finance Award.  Chris began his career as Financial Advisor with Prudential Securities.  He then joined PriorityOne Bank, serving over seven years as Vice President of Alternative Investments, where he oversaw all aspects of the bank’s investment department.  Chris then joined UBS, where he partnered with Tom Bertaut for three years, focusing on individual clients and financial planning before leaving to help form MIMCO.
